Keep a Child Alive

There is a new campaign in the works that is intended to raise AIDs awareness and also the Keep a Child Alive organization.

In an event created by Alicia Keyes an ambassador for the organization- she plans to have a great deal of celebrities delete their facebooks and twitters on World Aids Day. The celebrities will not come back to the technological world until the group has raised 1 million dollars for the charities.

Going alongside this campaign many of the celebrities have been posing in ads in coffins. Kim Kardashian, as one celebrity is seen laying in an open coffin with the words KIM KARDASHIAN IS DEAD.  Granted the message is blunt, and I am not truly sure how I feel about it but it might be slightly brilliant.

Aids does effect insane amounts of people throughout the world and if society needs to use celebrities to put that into perspective then I guess so be it. Sometimes thats what people need to realize things. Celebreties whether it is all earned or not, have a great deal of power. They have a podium, and a pedestal, and if they are willing to use that voice for the benefit of others than more power to them.

Alicia Keyes stated that out of all of the celebrities she asked to help in her crusade and take part in deleting their social media venues, no one turned her down. Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga are among those taking part. Maybe it is a cheesy way to do things and sad that people would only donate money to get celebrities twitter accounts reinstated- but if thats what it takes to spread awareness and raise money, then why not?
