Still Not Over

While still amidst my 24 hour babsyitting adventure, following dinner I had to then get the kids off to bed.
Their dad said they would have needed atleast a half hour to get ready which I thought was a little lengthy. I let the kids watch TV til about 745 only 15 minutes past their set "get ready for bed" time slot.

We all went upstairs. The little girl in her room. The little boy in his room. She immediately is jumping on her bed. He immediately is smashing his legos together.  After thirty five minutes of coaxing, book reading, story telling, teeth brushing, and promises of the fun to be had tomorrow,  they finally were in bed. The little girl cried for about 25 minutes (while I tried to help the situation and failed miserably) and eventually they were asleep.

I slept in the guest room and was woken up at 6:30 a.m. by the crying of the little girl. Im a pro sitter so I wasnt too concerned, she missed her Dad and I understood.

30 minutes later, still crying. 45 minutes later still crying. Literally one hour later...stilllll cryinggg.
Clearly my skills are not as great as I thought.
She wanted her Dad. She was mad I wasnt trying to find her Dad. She did not want to wear jeans. She refused any kind of cereal & told me I sucked at making waffles.

We grabbed their bags, their snacks, their notes for afterschool, and I wished them both a great day.

  1. hahah remind me never to let you babysit my children!! lol Just kidding.

I kind know how you feel because when I was in high school, I used to babysit my little cousins--cousins who were NOT the easiest to deal with all alone. There were times were I wanted to literally shoot them with some Valium just to get them to sleep and shut up haha

You suck at waffles eh? Hmm....I guess she had no problem "legoing" of her eggo.
